A Brief Summary - The Community Association and its Objectives... |

|
Greyabbey & District Community Association is a voluntary organisation comprising of local people -elected by local people, at the September AGM. The group was founded in 1997 and since that time has been involved in various projects throughout the village of Greyabbey. Anyone residing in the Greyabbey & district area is entitled to become an elected member of this committee. We openly welcome and encourage individuals and members of other local organisations, regardless of status, to come and join us for the benefit of our community.
We hold regular monthly meetings throughout the year. (Normally 7.30 pm on the third Monday of each month). As we do not have our own premises, these meetings are quite often held in the Wildfowler Inn Restaurant. This can vary from time to time but we always advertise the previous week in the Newtownards Chronicle under the Greyabbey Notes section.
Our regular meetings are always open and anyone is welcome to attend. The only request we have is that any topic you may wish to bring to our attention, should be done so through a committee member. If you do not know a committee member, just come along to the meeting a few minutes early and speak to someone. We will always do our best to address your concerns.
You will find that our committee meetings are always conducted in a friendly, caring atmosphere and that our discussions are mostly centred around local issues.
Please remember that we are a voluntary group who are only trying to do our bit to enhance the village and the lives of those who reside in it. We do not receive payment of any description for our time or effort and we are not always successful at resolving some issues, but we do try our best.
We also organise social functions throughout the year with the aim of creating greater community spirit. To this extent we have had some real success stories over the years and recent times have been no exception. Feed back from all of these events has been very positive and we hope to continue with these activities for the benefit of the community. Photographs taken at some of the various functions can be found at the GADCA Photo Gallery. Details of future events and committee activities can be found here.
