Greyabbey
& District Community
Association would like to
thank each and every
resident who donned the
wellie boots and
supported our recent
community Funday
Barbecue. Despite
the atrocious weather and
heavy rainfall in the
days prior to the event
we were thankfully graced
with dry conditions on
the night itself.
With the exception of a
few muddy feet and the
Glastonbury effect at the
entrance to 'The
Longshot', which came at
no additional charge by
the way, almost
everything went according
to plan and we hope
everyone attending had an
enjoyable
evening. Our
special thanks however
must go to those
business's and
individuals whose help
and assistance
contributed significantly
to the success of the
event. In brief -
Ards Borough Council,
Ulster Mobile Exhibitions
(UMEX), Mace Shop
Greyabbey, Angus Farm
Shop, Newtownards
Chronicle, B S Fire
Alarms, Alpha Fire
Protection, East Down
Rural Community Network,
PSNI, Bill Montgomery,
Chris Bowman, Michael
Kirkpatrick, Terry &
Eileen Atcheson, Norman
& Joyce Willis,
Dennis Brooks, Leslie
Kelly (Baps), Glenda
Ritchie, Jimmy Heald,
Pamela Lindsay, Clair
Kelly, David Wilson,
Rodney Graham and Michael
& Christine
Brown. As secretary
of the association it
would be remiss of me not
to praise those
committee members who
worked tirelessly both in
the weeks before the
event and on the
night. Well done to
all concerned. May
I also remind residents
that the next AGM of the
community association
will be held on Monday
15th September.
Anyone wishing to join
the committee should
contact the secretary on
42788281 for more
information.
Everyone will be made
very welcome.
