Campbell commented that Mr Cruikshanks (School Governor) had attended a recent DPP meeting and raised the issue of flashing lights for the school. Although the meeting devoted much of its time to other criteria he did get an assurance that the local community police would conduct a survey of the area. It was suggested that M. Brown get in touch with Sergeant Peter Brett (Ards Community Liaison Officer) and invite him to attend our next meeting. M. Brown agreed to try and contact Sgt. Brett but stated that from previous experience that it may difficult to organise.
Wildfowler Planning Application: B. Workman raised the issue of this application with concerns of the impact a development of this size would have to lower Main Street and the safety of children attending the school. With what appears to be a significant number of residential properties and five commercial outlets, she felt that additional traffic on this scale would be detrimental to the entire area. D. Montgomery stated that she had not been notified by DOE planning or the developers, and since the access to this development affected Greyabbey Estate, she would be making her own enquiries. Committee agreed that the secretary should write to planning dept. opposing the development.
Pub Quiz 29/09/06: Committee agreed that this had been another successful night. M. Brown reported that the event had raised a total of £182.

Davidson offered to provide pumpkins for table decoration. Prizes for best costume to include shopping vouchers and a small gift for each child. All available committee members were asked to meet on Friday afternoon to set up the hall.
Youth Report: R. Campbell reported that youth group had approx. 30 children attending on a regular basis. She stated that although attendance rates for P1 – P7 age groups are reasonable, unless the group can attract older children, EELB funding will be stopped.
