    Future Events

RCN Membership:  M. Brown reported that GADCA was now a paid up member of RCN.
R. Campbell observed from the leaflets received that this committee could propose up to three members to sit on the newly formed Ards Peninsula Community Group headed by RCN.  Committee agreed that this would be a good opportunity to network with other groups in the area.  R. Campbell agreed to contact RCN for more details.

Wildfowler Planning Application: New plans for this development have apparently been submitted to divisional planning office.  B. Workman agreed to view new plans and report back to committee.  Due to the time sensitive nature of this matter it was proposed that secretary write to DOE planning objecting to new proposal, prior to the next meeting, if no significant changes to original plans have been made.

Presentation – Constable Cassels:  R. Campbell proposed that  some form of presentation should  be made to Constable Cassels, prior to his retirement in April 2007, as an  acknowledgement of his dedication and community efforts within the village.  Committee agreed that this would be a particularly pleasant gesture.   B. Workman and D. Montgomery agreed to purchase a painting on behalf of committee to be presented to Constable Cassels on conclusion of the April meeting. (16/04/07). The presentation will be followed by a light supper with invitations going to a very limited number of friends and colleagues.   (Prop.  B. Workman   Sec. D. Montgomery)

Future Events:
Pub Quiz – Wildfowler Function Room – 27/04/07
  60s Disco & Fancy Dress - Wildfowler Function Room – 01/06/07

Youth Report: R. Campbell reported that 25 children attended the Chinese New Year celebrations in the village.  The youth group has also agreed to run a disco on behalf of the Primary school in order to raise funds to send a group of local children to Blackpool on an educational visit.  An Easter Extravaganza has also been organised for 30/03/07 at Rosemount Estate (kind permission of D. Montgomery).
Portakabins - At present youth group is very busy and R. Campbell explained that she did not have the time to pursue the project single handed.  G. Ritchie suggested that RCN may be able to help with project planning, funding etc.

Other Business:  Committee was sorry to learn that our esteemed member John Brady was going through a tough time with his health at present.  G. Ritchie agreed to obtain a card and a basket of fruit for John and to pass on the best wishes of this committee for a speedy recovery.  (Prop. N. Cornick   Sec. S. Capper)

In an effort to make the distribution of minutes more efficient and save the secretary a bit of leg work each month, N. Cornick suggested that minutes be distributed by email.  M. Brown agreed that this would make life a little easier and would be happy to do so.

If this idea appeals to you please send a blank email to mbrown@gadca.co.uk.  Your email address will be kept strictly confidential and will only be used to post GADCA minutes.  For those members without internet access, traditional copies of minutes will still be available on arrival at committee meetings.
