Creating Worthwhile Activities for Greyabbey Youth... |
|

|
Greyabbey & District Community Association has always taken a keen interest in developing worthwhile and meaningful activities for the young people of Greyabbey. As far back as 1997, even though the Community Association was still very much in its infancy, our records show a strong commitment by committee members to develop some form of sustainable youth program within the village.
From the vision of a few dedicated people, through a youth sub committee, Team Spirit Youth Group was formed to cater for children of all ages throughout the village. The group, now operating under its own constitution, has blossomed over the years with increasing numbers of children participating and the range of activities ever expanding. Importantly, Youth leaders have attained all the relevant qualifications including child protection training and clearances, which is mandatory these days. The Team Spirit Youth Group is currently chaired by Mrs Rae Campbell who has been doing a splendid job for the last seven years with the help of her dedicated team of volunteer assistants.
If you would like to learn more about Team Spirit activities or would like to assist the group in any way, Rae would love to hear from you. You can contact Rae Here.
Greyabbey & District Community Association praise the excellent work of all groups or individuals who are involved in providing youth activities around the village. Greyabbey is indeed fortunate to have so many willing volunteers who give up their spare time for the benifit of our young people. We would certainly urge everyone to investigate the wide range of youth activities currently available. A list of local groups can be found Here.
